In this online shop, we treat our customers like we want to be treated: friendly and with respect. For this reason, we inform you about your rights as customers, instead of hiding them in the small print.

We are a small team of scientists and teachers - and not Amazon.com. Our goal is not to sell as much stuff as possible, but to see children using our tools to discover the fascination of science with their own hands and minds. We are constantly learning in this endeavor, and appreciate criticism that helps us to improve. Your rights as customer

When you purchase something in our shop, our General Terms and Conditions become part of the contract. We recommend to read these terms carefully to understand your rights as our customer. Additionally, we would like to highlight here two important rights we think you should be aware of:

Warranty: In case the items you purchased were damaged in transit or are faulty – even if you note the defect only months after receiving your order – we will of course replace them. The same holds true if, by accident, the products we sent you are not the items you ordered.

Revocation: Consumers in the EU have the right to withdraw from an online product purchase within fourteen days after receiving the goods. For details please refer to our the section "Revocation" below or our General Terms and Conditions.



The easiest way to pay for your teaching tools is via credit card. During checkout, your payment will be reserved, but your credit card is NOT being charged. You only pay on the day the goods are shipped to you. We use the services of the company stripe to process your payment, so that confidential information like your credit card details never comes in contact with our server. Instead, they are sent directly from your browser to stripe in a secure environment.

Alternatively, if you own a PayPal account, you can use this service to make your payment. At the end of the checkout process, you will be briefly forwarded to the PayPal server to enter your account details, and after the payment be redirected to our shop. With PayPal, payments are processed at the moment you place the order.

We understand that schools, universities and other public institutions have to follow legal requirements and internal rules when purchasing teaching materials. Only in these cases do we offer a payment by invoice and bank transfer. Institutions in Europe can pay the balance within 14 days after receiving the invoice. Institutions outside of Europe need to pay in advance; we will dispatch the goods as soon you inform us that the payment has been arranged. Kindly note that the customer bears the transfer charges. Taxes and shipping cost depend on your shipping address, in particular whether you want us to send the teaching tools to a location inside or outside the EU.

Please note: There can be significant delays, sometimes several weeks, due to customs clearance and local mail services in the destination country. We do our best to reduce this time, e.g. by including the documentation needed for customs clearance in the shipment and using 'EIL international/Exprès'. However, these delays are outside of our control.

(*) The shipping period starts with formation of the order contract; with the exception of orders using advanced payment, for which the period starts one day after the customer sends us proof that the payment has been arranged. In case the last day of the shipping period falls on a Sunday or legal holiday, the period ends on the following working day.

Taxes INSIDE the EU

We are required to collect 19% VAT from private customers in Europe and to forward it to the German tax authority. However, institutions outside of Germany with a valid VAT registration number are exempt from VAT. Please provide us with this number during checkout in the billing address form, so that our system can automatically verify it at the European Commissions' VIES before processing your order.

Taxes OUTSIDE of the EU

Customers outside the EU do not have to pay VAT in Germany.

As the receiver, you are liable for customs fees or any other claims legally made by governmental institutions or postal services in your country. Most countries only make you pay import duties if the value of the goods is above a certain threshold – e.g. 50 USD in Brazil and Mexico, 200 USD in Peru, and 800 USD in the United States – which means that smaller orders at our shop may be exempt.


Our shipping fees are based on what we pay at the post office to send you the goods (plus VAT where applicable), without charging you extra for packaging and handling. For shipments inside the EU this means postage plus registration (2.50€) plus 19% VAT (where applicable). Outside the EU, we use the service 'Eil international/Exprès' instead of registered mail. This express/priority service, which costs 4.50€, allows you and us to track the shipment even when it has left the EU. Furthermore, the packages seem to arrive indeed a few days earlier compared to regular mail – at least that's our impression after a series of tests.

Some customers might expect a free delivery, but in 'free shipping' offers, the shipping costs are merely hidden in the product prices. We believe that being transparent about our costs is the better way – out of respect for our customers. We use regular mail, which can take up to 10 working days to arrive within Europe (depending on your country, this can also be much faster), but is significantly cheaper than express carriers like FedEx or UPS. If your case is urgent, please sent us an email and include your phone number; we surely will find a quick solution.



Return policy

In case your teaching tools arrive damaged, or you cannot use them for another reason, please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Of course, you can send the goods back to us, but together we might find a better solution that avoids unnecessary shipping of broken stuff. We would appreciate if you could send us a photo of the damage, so that we can improve our packaging. If the goods are damaged, we will send you a replacement after receiving your email or the returned goods, whichever reaches us first.
