Description
Each set includes 6 color filters, one filter of each of the following colors:
- red
- green
- blue
- cyan
- magenta
- yellow
They are made of the same material used for lighting in cinema or film production, and have a specified spectral absorption (see below). Each filter is about the size of a credit card, namely 5 by 8 cm, a format we found to work very well in hands-on experiments.
It took us several weeks of patiently testing hundreds of filters from different manufacturers, in order to find those that work best with screen colors – crucial for experiments which use computer or mobile screens. Granted, the magenta filter could be a little darker, it's the best we could find, but we are generally very happy with the filters we selected:
Red

Green

Blue

Cyan

Magenta

Yellow

Experiments
The 3D vision effect of anaglyphs can be quite impressive. But why can you see white through red and cyan filters?
A simple experiment that turns abstract color theory into a tangible color filter puzzle, which challenges your student's analytical thinking.

Sets
For your information, these are the prices of a single color filter set in different sets:
Personal |
0.800€ |
Small Class Set |
0.568€ |
Regular Class Set |
0.495€ |
In case you prefer a different set size, you can order multiple personal sets – if the overall size exceeds the limits for small or regular class sets, the unit price is automatically adjusted. Please avoid combining different set sizes of the same product, since the system will not be able to adjust unit prices accordingly.
Our primary goal is to put science into the hands of school kids. These prices are therefore optimized for class sets, assuming a regular class size of up to 32 students, working in small groups of 3 students each. To hand each of the eleven groups a filter set and keep one for you as teacher (or, if needed, as spare parts), the regular class set contains 12 sets of filters.
By paying a bit more for a personal set, you help us to offer class sets at a lower price.
